An exhibition showcasing 64 artworks by 12 Vietnamese and Indonesian artists is opening from September 2nd to 17th at the Breeze Art Space in Jakarta.

(VNF) - An exhibition showcasing 64 artworks by 12 Vietnamese and Indonesian artists is opening from September 2nd to 17th at the Breeze Art Space in Jakarta.

The artists on display include Tao Huong, Nguyen Duc Hung, Tran Thi Thao Hien, Tao Linh, Le Huy Cuu and Nguyen Ngoc Dan from Vietnam, and Emmy Go, Erica Hestu Wahyuni, Hadi Soesanto, Johan Suwondo, Tiarma Sirait, Wiwik Oratmangun from Indonesia. The artists have jointly organised the event in a bid to exchange ideas and interact with each other.

The exhibition aims to promote the fine arts of the two nations, helping honour their outstanding cultural values and raising the awareness of Vietnamese and Indonesian art lovers. It reflects long relations between the two countries, not only in politics, economics but also in culture and the fine arts.

The opening ceremony on September 2nd was attended by there were representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Assembly, Arts Association, sponsors, collectors, the Vietnamese Embassy in Jakarta and nearly 300 guests. Especially the opening ceremony of this year's event took place exactly on the Vietnam’s 72nd National Day.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Hoang Anh Tuan was invited to give an opening speech and cut the ribbon marking the opening of the second art exhibition.

Indonesia is considered to be among the southeast Asian country with the most long-standing, persified and lively art history and market.

The exhibition is expected to lay a foundation for the cooperation and dialogue of mutual fine art development between Vietnam and Indonesia.

Speaking at the opening event, Ambassador Tuan said, “I am happy to see collaboration between Indonesian and Vietnamese artists.”

He hoped that the Vietnam-Indonesia art exhibition would not only help promote artistic exchanges between painters of the two countries, but also contribute to the mutual exchange and understanding between the two peoples.

The Vietnamese Embassy always supports the cultural, artistic and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and Indonesia, he said./.
