Several Records to be Broken at International Festival of Vietnam Rice Industry
The event will be organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with the People's Committee of Hau Giang province.

The International Festival of Vietnam Rice Industry - Hau Giang 2023 is held in the context that Vietnam is aiming to become a pioneer country in quality rice production, reducing emissions in production towards a green and sustainable direction. Vietnam is planning to implement the project "Sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta until 2030".
Some of the main programs include the opening ceremony, the exhibition introducing socio-economic achievements, rice production, OCOP products in Hau Giang province and other provinces and cities nationwide, and the rice industry chain exhibition area. There will be an exhibition "Vietnam Rice Road" at Xa No canal embankment. This exhibition will showcase rice farming machinery and equipment, mechanized sowing technology and circular agriculture model, and smart rice farming model.
The event also hosts many conferences and seminars about topics such as Vietnam - Africa policy dialogue, South-South cooperation, support for food system transformation; global rice situation, and future trends and development of the Vietnamese rice value chain responsibly and sustainably.
At the Festival, a special publication issue "Vietnam - The New Rice Road" will be released to introduce the achievements of Vietnam's rice industry and the Vietnam Rice Festival journey brings local rice to the international level.
According to the organizing committee, the publication conveys a meaningful message about the role of the agricultural industry in general and Vietnam's rice production industry in particular in socio-economic development and ensuring national and international food security.
As one of the highlights of the festival, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will officially announce the approval of the project "Sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta until 2030". The announcement follows the Vietnamese Government's message and commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions was announced by the Prime Minister at the COP26 Conference.
The first record that will be set at the festival is the Vietnamese record for the longest exhibition space, rice road installation, and the theme "Thousand-year journey of Vietnamese rice". The second is the Vietnam Map model assembled from the most specialty rice varieties of provinces and cities. The third and last record is the biggest executing and performing event of cakes made from rice and sticky rice in Vietnam (200 dishes).
According to the Organizing Committee, in recent years, Vietnam has achieved many great achievements in rice production, ensuring national food security and maintaining its position as one of the world's leading rice exporting countries. The International Festival of Vietnam Rice Industry - Hau Giang 2023 will contribute to introducing the potential, production strengths, and quality of Vietnamese rice agriculture and create momentum to promote the national rice trade. This is also an opportunity for Vietnam to send a message to the world about a responsible country for the global food industry.
