(VNF) - Ho Chi Minh city greeted about 4.4 million foreign tourist arrivals in 2014, a 7% rise over a year earlier, reported the municipal Department of Tourism.

The city is one of the country’s leading tourism centers with positive growth. Total tourism turnover in 2014 reached over VND89 trillion, up 7.4% against 2013.

Aiming to attract tourists, together with improving the quality of tourism products and services in hotels, in 2015, the city focuses on building new tourism products, especially river tourism.

The municipal tourism sector attaches importance on training human resources, intensifying promotion activities and building a friendly and safe tourism environment for tourists.

In 2015, the city expects to receive about 4.7 million foreign tourist arrivals and 19 million domestic tourist arrivals./.
