Spring flower festival launched in HCM city

The 2015 Spring Flower Festival was kicked off at Tao Dan Park in Ho Chi Minh city on February 13th to celebrate the lunar New Year (Tet).

The 2015 Spring Flower Festival was kicked off at Tao Dan Park in Ho Chi Minh city on February 13th to celebrate the lunar New Year (Tet).

The festival, themed “Vietnamese identity-Vietnamese spirit”, featured more than 4,000 items of ornamental plants, bonsai, rock gardens, dried trees, grafted stones, cacti, ornamental fish and birds and various rare flowers.

The park’s gates are decorated with magnificent floral displays, focusing on the major themes of national unity; this year’s mascot –the Goat; aspiration for peace; and Spring celebration.

The festival also included a high-tech agricultural display area, showcasing for the first time the modern models to produce ornamental and herbal flowers and plants.

The event is open to the public for free until February 24th (the 6th of the first month of the Year of the Goat)./.
