Suoi Tia – The Stunning Upstream Of Tuyen Lam Lake
Most tourists coming to Da Lat know Tuyen Lam Lake - the largest freshwater lake in the city. However, only a few people know the origin of the water flowing into the lake, Suoi Tia.
The area surrounding the flow of Suoi Tia is surrounded by mountain ranges forming a basin terrain. Around 1985 - 1986, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province and Duc Trong district built dams to retain water in the Suoi Tia area, forming Tuyen Lam Lake as it is today, according to the Lam Dong province electronic information portal.

Hills and mountains surround the flow area of Suoi Tia, creating a basin terrain, where bamboo trees live and grow. Each season, the bamboo forest takes on a different beauty.
The slender bamboo trees reaching into the sky create a unique scene, especially in the springtime, when the slender, spindly tree trunks, rise vertically into the sky and attract photographers to take the best shots.
Arriving at Suoi Tia on November 22, 25-year-old Bui Ngoc Lam, a tourist from Hanoi, said the road from Da Lat city center to Suoi Tia is about 15 km. The road is quite nice, only a short section of about 100 m is under repair. Visitors can travel by motorbike or pickup truck near Suoi Tia and walk another 300 meters to get there.

Staying for a day trip in Suoi Tia, visitors can fully feel the beauty of the four seasons according to the time of day. The misty scene in the early morning brings the feeling of spring. The sun shines brightly at noon, and the temperature rises like summer. In the afternoon, the scenery becomes quiet as if entering the autumn atmosphere. The coldness at night is like winter weather.
Suoi Tia has its wild beauty, with no overly developed tourism services. The cool air is very suitable for camping and relaxing surrounded by nature and tranquility. Young people who like to exercise can form a SUP or kayak group on the lake.

The best time to visit Suoi Tia is from January to April when the weather is in its best condition without rain. Visitors should arrive before 6:30 a.m. to admire the scenery when the first rays of sunlight appear, and rows of bamboo trees shining amid the magical white mist. Note that the early morning temperature in Da Lat is quite cold, so visitors should bring warm clothes.
At Suoi Tia, any corner can produce poetic photos. Visitors are advised to clean up after leaving and not leave any trash around to protect nature and preserve the beauty of Tuyen Lam Lake.

With its pristine charm, visitors can mistake it for a natural lake. Tuyen Lam Lake is an artificial lake that was built in the 1930s and then discovered by a French farmer named Farraut. At that time, Tuyen Lam Lake was surrounded by the grandiose Elephant Mountain and in connection with the poetic Purple Stream.
Tuyen Lam Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Da Lat with an area of 350 hectares. The mother of nature is affectionate towards Tuyen Lam Lake with a majestic wild beauty that not all lakes have. Tuyen Lam Lake is surrounded by the tranquil lush green pine forest which all year round sends a gleam to the crystal-clear water. Tuyen Lam Lake is different from the other lakes in Da Lat because the oases around the lake look like verdant plates covered by pine trees and magnificent mist.
Admiring the beauty of Tuyen Lam Lake from a boat sailing on the water would give tourists a very amazing perception that they have never had before. The sky above is embellished with floating spotless white clouds; around the boat are the small hills sleeping in the blanket of vaporous fog clouds and the vault's still and restful water surface.
