The Saigon Heat basketball team was expected to pull off a miracle, but will have to settle for second place at the ABL 2023 basketball championship.

Jaylin Williams became the first Vietnamese-born player in history to be picked and play for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA playoffs. Furthermore, another Vietnamese-born basketball sensation, Johnny Juzang, is not among the 58 players chosen in the NBA Draft, but he still has a chance to play in the league.

NBA Hall of Fame Coach Jerry Sloan, who was a member of the Utah Jazz organization for more than 30 years, has died early Friday at the age of 78  to complications from Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia.
