A workshop was held in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang on March 15 to review the implementation of the “Advancing women’s economic empowerment in Vietnam” (AWEEV ) project, focusing on unpaid care and domestic work.

"I'm 29 years old this year, besides dogs and debt, I'm still empty-handed" is how Ngoc Hanh describes herself. She is a baker at a small bakery in Bien Hoa (Dong Nai). Currently, she is raising 10 cats and 14 dogs at home and supporting 5 more outside.

In addition to this immediate relief, Mastercard and CARE International in Vietnam are working together with various partners to support women in micro, small and medium businesses across the country. At the same time, CARE works with JupViec.vn in another project to improve the working conditions for house cleaners.
