Seventy years ago, the Vietnamese army and people achieved the Dien Bien Phu Victory which “resounded throughout the five continents and was world-shaking” under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by President Ho Chi Minh, bringing an end to the nine-year resistance war against French colonialism.

Dien Bien Phu victory had a strong impact on the struggle against colonialism of peoples around the world. The statement was made by Pedro De Oliveira, General Secretary of the Brazil - Vietnam Friendship Association.

The Military Command of Dien Bien Phu city in the northwestern province of Dien Bien on March 7 successfully deactivated more than 300kg of ammunitions and explosives unearthed in the relic site of the Dien Bien Phu stronghold.
