Forecast-based early action is emerging among humanitarian and disaster risk management practitioners as an approach that can reduce the impact of shocks on vulnerable people and their livelihoods, improve the effectiveness of emergency preparedness, response and recovery efforts.

The objective of the project is to strengthen the disaster resilience of communities and schools through enhancing the disaster prevention capacity of local governments; communities and schools; and utilize and mobilize resources for the local disaster preparedness program.

South central people will have a chance to improve their skills in managing response to disasters and risks caused by extreme weather such as floods, droughts and heat waves.

At the end of October 2021, the project was officially launched with the expectation of supporting more than 6,500 Vietnamese people to improve their skills in managing activities to respond to disasters and risks caused by extreme weather such as floods, droughts, and heat waves.
