Cooperation in natural disaster management is an important content in the Socio-Cultural Community of ASEAN cooperation.

In 2023, Vietnam takes over as Chair of the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management. This is not only the obligation and responsibility of Vietnam, but also an opportunity for us to lead, enhance our position and demonstrate our role in ASEAN cooperation on disaster management particularly and in building the ASEAN Community in general.

The handovers promote the ability to mobilize synergy under the motto “4 on the spot” to perform better and more effectively the task of responding to natural disasters and disasters, ensuring safety for the communities in Nghe An province.

Belgium donated USD 300.000 in its flood response for the central region of Vietnam.
