Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed Vietnam regards trade cooperation the centre and main driver of the bilateral ties while meeting with US National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien in Hanoi on November 21.

Defence Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich and US National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien shared the view that the defence ties between Vietnam and the US have developed in line with agreements reached by high-ranking leaders and defence ministries of the two countries.

U.S. national security adviser Robert O’Brien left Thursday for Vietnam and the Philippines to discuss regional security cooperation, the White House National Security Council said.
