Director General of the European Department, Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Do Minh Hung co-chaired the political consultations at the level of directors general in Dublin, Ireland, and Bern, Switzerland from October 3 to October 5.

Minister of State at the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs Colm Brophy expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in areas where the two sides have strengths and potential.

Vietnam DPM and FM Pham Binh Minh on May 22 held phone talks with his Irish counterpart Simon Coveney to discuss measures to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordination between the two nations. Ireland spoke highly of Vietnam’s drastic and effective measures and its active role of the ASEAN Chair and UNSC non-permanent member in pushing back the COVID-19 pandemic.
