The title of World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Islands was awarded to Hai Phong City and Quang Ninh Province at the Red Poinciana Festival - Hai Phong 2024 on May 11.

The Vietnamese homepage of tech giant Google on December 17 featured a doodle of Ha Long Bay to mark the 29th anniversary of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO)'s recognition of the bay as a World Heritage Site.

In the near future, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) will visit Cat Ba archipelago to evaluate the nomination dossier for the world natural heritage along with Ha Long Bay.
