The working delegation of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Thai Nguyen province on July 15 visited and gave gifts to wounded, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs in Phu Luong district.

This is a meaningful activity aimed at celebrating the 77th Anniversary of Vietnamese War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) to commemorate to those who fought and sacrificed on the Lao battlefield during the resistance war against foreign invaders.

Here, the delegation thoughtfully visited and encouraged wounded, sick soldiers, and martyrs' families to continue promoting revolutionary traditions and overcoming difficulties in life. The victories and sacrifices of wounded, sick veterans, and martyrs have contributed to brightening and beautifying the golden history of the two countries, tightening the loyalty and special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

The delegation presented 14 gift packages (worth VND 1.1 million or USD 43 each) to wounded, sick soldiers, and families of martyrs who are members of the Thai Nguyen's Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association.

Through annual gratitude activities, the Thai Nguyen's Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association hopes that war invalids, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs' families will forever maintain their deep affection and spirit of solidarity to develop local economy together.

Implementing the motto "Proactive - Creative - Flexible - Effective," with the method of "Socialization and diversification of people-to-people activities," recently, the Thai Nguyen's Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association has focused on bringing together many localities, organizations, units, collectives and individuals in the province to participate in Vietnam - Laos friendship activities.

The Thai Nguyen's Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association conducted many rich and practical activities to strengthen the special friendship and solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos such as encouraging officials, members and people of the entire province to take part in the competition to learn about the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos; coordinating with schools with Lao students to organize Bunpimay New Year festivals and celebrating major holidays of the two countries; welcoming Lao students to homestays to help them improve their Vietnamese skills and cultural exchanges with local people.

Every year, the association coordinates with traditional organizations and associations to host tours visiting historical and revolutionary relics in Vietnam and Laos; and organize and implement the homestay program - bringing Lao international students to live with local families. On the occasion of Vietnam's Lunar New Year and Lao Bunpimay festivals, the association also coordinates with universities to organize traditional New Year celebrations for Lao students, as well as sends greetings to the Lao Embassy in Vietnam.
