Thai Students Compete in Vietnamese Speaking Contest

	Vietnam, Thailand Team Up for Stronger Maritime Security
	Joining Hands to Spread the Vietnamese Language Worldwide

Supported by the Embassy of Vietnam in Thailand, the contest attracted significant attention from Thai students and interests of Vietnamese culture .

In her opening remarks for the final round, Associate Professor Dr. Anchalee Chansem, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Srinakharinwirot University, expressed her honor in welcoming distinguished guests, faculty members, and contestants to the first Vietnamese-speaking competition held among five universities in Thailand.

Under the theme “Welcome Vietnamese Guests to Our Thailand,” the contest finals were held in person.

Fifteen finalists took turns presenting in Vietnamese about their favorite locations in Thailand, using videos they had created during the preliminary round. Contestants then answered questions in Vietnamese posed by the judges based on the content of their videos.

Demonstrating a rich vocabulary and expressive skills, the contestants transformed into true Vietnamese-speaking tour guides, taking the audience on journeys to historical landmarks, scenic attractions, temples, museums, parks, and vibrant markets across Thailand.

In addition to enlisting their Vietnamese-speaking talents, many contestants displayed a deep knowledge of Vietnamese culture by donning traditional ao dai, wearing leaf hat, and performing traditional Vietnamese music on instruments such as the zither.

The grand prize went to Sirirak Narinuon, a student from Srinakharinwirot University, for her outstanding presentation about Wat Saket (Golden Mount Temple) in Bangkok. The first prize was awarded to Pitchaya Ditson, also from Srinakharinwirot University, for her presentation on Chatuchak Market, a famous weekend tourist destination in Bangkok . Two second prizes, two third prizes, and nine consolation prizes were presented to students from Srinakharinwirot University, Udon Thani Rajabhat University, and Thammasat University.

Speaking at the event, Counselor of the Embassy Bui Thi Hue, representing the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, emphasized the growing Vietnam-Thailand relationship across various fields, particularly under the framework of the enhanced strategic partnership. She highlighted that the two countries are not only friendly neighbors but also important economic partners. Learning Vietnamese in Thailand will play a crucial role in strengthening the friendship between the two nations and opening new opportunities for students.
