“The Abandoned Field” film creates deep impression with Argentine audience
The Argentina-Vietnam Cultural Institute (ICAV) and Cuba-Argentina Friendship House screened a famous Vietnamese film, "The Abandoned Field" in Buenos Aires capital on April 5th to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the South liberation and National reunification day (April 30th, 1975 - April 30th, 2015).
The audience was thrilled to witness the image of the small but resilient people of Vietnam against the mighty US Empire.
The viewers felt the fierceness of the war and understood the desire of ordinary Vietnamese people to live.
Argentine friends attended a seminar after watching the film and appreciated the significance of Vietnam’s victory on April 30th, 1975 while emphasizing the spirit of national unity was the determining factor in victory for Vietnam.
President of ICAV Poldi Sosa recalled the days during the fierce war of resistance against the US Empire of the people of Vietnam.
She also added that to gain victory, the people of Vietnam had to commit to untold sacrifices, losses and the war of resistance still leaves its consequences today.
Many people at the workshop recalled extremely touching stories about the participation of the Argentine people into the antiwar movement and the pleasure at hearing of the victory of Vietnamese people./.
