The People’s Committee of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong has decided to earmark VND10.3 billion to provide coffee seedlings for the poor and ethnic minority families.

The poor assisted with coffee seedlings worth VND10 billion

Accordingly, the families will be assisted with 80% of the capital for coffee seedlings to boost domestic economic development and poverty reduction.

In addition, families and inpiduals, especially those in extremely disadvantaged socio-economic conditions will also be supported with 60% of fees for upgrading coffee seedlings. Statistics from authorised agencies in the province state that some 1,242 hectares of coffee plantations which are managed by the poor, nearly poor and ethnic minority families across 10 districts and cities will welcome the assistance..

Furthermore, the province will also put aside over VND1.5 billion to give coffee seedling support for those whose crops were damaged by the hoarfrost in March in Lac Duong district. Accordingly, over 118 hectares of coffee plantation damaged by the frost will be allocated seedlings worth VND13.2 million per hectare./.
