The Thrilling Horse Races of Da Khai Lake
The first saddleless horse race in Vietnam took place at the racetrack next to Da Khai lake, in the eco-cultural tourist area (Da Nhim commune, Lac Duong province) on December 10th and December 11th. It has attracted a large number of visitors and locals. This activity was put together to celebrate Da Lat Flower Festival 2022 organized by H. Lac Duong.

32 horses and jockeys who are native ethnic minority horsemen aged 16-45 from communes and towns in H.Lac Duong have participated in this race. SXHQ Joint Stock Company has built the racetrack methodically. This racetrack has a 10m wide track, and green grass with a winding design along Da Khai Lake. It stretches to the hillside for over 1km to increase the difficulty for the racers.

The qualifying rounds took place on the afternoon of December 10. On the morning of December 11, there were quarterfinals, semi-finals, and finals. These matches have attracted large numbers of locals and tourists. 4 steeds made it to the final round.

Results: The first prize went to horse number 19, horse number 21 won the second prize, and horse number 22 won the third prize. All three horses belong to the SXHQ Joint Stock Company. Horse number 14 from Dung K'No commune (Lac Duong) won the consolation prize.

Cil Poh, Vice Chairman of H. Lac Duong People's Committee, said that since ancient times, horses have been used by the Lac Duong indigenous people in daily life and production. The saddleless horse race aims to restore the unique and characteristic culture of the local people here. At the same time, it also aims to diversify tourism products and services to attract tourists to Lac Duong.
