A new novel by writer Nguyen The Ky titled “From Viet Bac to Hanoi” chronicling the life of Nguyen Ai Quoc, who later became President Ho Chi Minh, from early 1941 to the historic August Revolution in 1945, was released to commemorate his 134th birthday on May 19.

The chronicle, the third of a five-volume novel series called “Ten Thousand Miles of the Homeland” (Nuoc Non Van Dam), recounts real and important events in the life of Nguyen Ai Quoc, using both fictional and non-fictional characters to reflect the great leader’s inner depth, ideology, feelings, soul, talents, and virtues.

The real-life context of the third book takes place from 1941-1945, the Vietnamese revolutionary situation, although quiet on the outside, is boiling inside, waiting for the opportunity to flare up into a big storm.
