"Trade Union's Train Trip - Spring 2024" Held Simultaneously to Bring Workers Home for Tet

From the first week of February 2024, many provincial and city trade unions have cooperated with businesses to hold the "Trade Union's Tet Journey - Spring 2024" to bring workers back to their hometowns to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Dragon. This is one of the key activities during the 2024 Tet holiday held by the Vietnam Trade Unions in many localities.

Ho Chi Minh City: On the evening of February 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor launched the "Spring Train Trip" program, bringing workers back to their hometowns for family reunions during the 2024 New Year of the Dragon.

During Tet, Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor supported nearly 570 households to return home to celebrate Tet. The program runs for 4 consecutive days (from February 4-7) with 17 trains.

According to the Organizing Committee, households who are eligible to receive tickets have not come home for Tet for three years; are Trade Union members who have excellent achievements and contributions at the companies; and actively participate in trade union activities at the grassroots.

Binh Duong: On the morning of February 5, the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park Trade Union helped nearly 800 workers to travel to the Western, Northern, Central, and Central Highlands provinces.

According to Binh Duong Confederation of Labor, in 2024, the direct superiors at the grassroots level will support bus tickets for about 3,500 workers. In addition, at the grassroots level, many grassroots unions have coordinated with businesses to support bus tickets and organize buses to pick up and return workers after Tet.

During this year's Tet, the province allocated VND 44.4 billion from the budget to join hands with the Trade Union and businesses to take care of difficult workers. From February 4-5, thousands of workers left Binh Duong to return home for Tet on free buses supported by the Union.

Dong Nai: On the evening of February 4, the Dong Nai Confederation of Labor held a farewell ceremony for 21 people, including workers and their relatives, to return home to celebrate Tet in the Central and Northern provinces.

According to Bui Thi Bich Thuy, Standing Vice President of Dong Nai Confederation of Labor, at the farewell ceremony, the working group met, sent wishes, and gave lucky money gifts to union members and workers.

Also according to the Dong Nai Confederation of Labor, in the coming days, from February 5-7 (Tet 28), the Dong Nai Confederation of Labor will continue to see off hundreds of workers returning home for Tet at Bien Hoa station.

During the Lunar New Year 2024, the Provincial Confederation of Labor will send train tickets to nearly 500 union members and workers in difficult circumstances to return home to celebrate Tet from the "Trade Union's Train Trip - Spring 2024" program of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Thanh Hoa: On the afternoon of February 4, after more than a day departing from Di An Station, Binh Duong, train SE8 arrived at Thanh Hoa Station. Here, dozens of union members and disadvantaged workers on the first train returning home to celebrate Tet were visited, encouraged, and supported by representatives of Thanh Hoa province and the Provincial Confederation of Labor to return to their hometown to celebrate Tet.

According to Thanh Hoa Confederation of Labor, to implement the program "Trade Union's Tet Journey - Spring 2024" of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, from February 4-6 (the 27th of the last month of the lunar year), the Confederation of Labor of Thanh Hoa welcomed more than 500 workers in the southern provinces to return to Thanh Hoa, their hometown, to celebrate Tet.

Trains carrying union members and workers departed from Di An station (Binh Duong) and Saigon station (Ho Chi Minh City) on February 3-5 (the 24th to 26th day of the last month of the lunar year).

Quang Ninh: On February 5, coal companies in Quang Ninh (under the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group) organized bus trips to take workers home to celebrate Tet.

On the morning of February 5 (the 26th day of the last month of the lunar year), at Nui Beo Coal Company, 135 workers and family members were given New Year wishes and lucky money from company leaders before departing. On Lunar New Year 2024, Nui Beo Coal Company will support over 3,300 officials, workers, and laborers to travel back home to celebrate Tet with the value of VND 500,000/person.

As for Ha Long Coal Company, on Lunar New Year 2024, the company will arrange 17 buses to transport nearly 670 workers, laborers, and their relatives home to celebrate Tet. The furthest destinations are Ha Tinh, Son La, Dien Bien, and Ha Giang provinces.

On the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024, units of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries have prepared 300 car trips to transport 12,000 workers and family members back home to celebrate Tet. It also supports train and plane tickets for nearly 10,000 workers in remote areas where road transportation cannot be arranged, so that workers can arrange their own journey.

Hanoi organizes "Trade Union's Tet Journey - Spring 2024" for more than 1,200 workers

According to the Hanoi Confederation of Labor, from the morning of February 7 (the 28th day of the last month of the lunar year), buses will take workers in Hanoi back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet. It is expected that the Hanoi Confederation of Labor will organize 30 bus trips to take 1,200 workers from Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones to their hometowns in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces to celebrate Tet. These buses assemble and depart at 7 a.m. on February 7 at Thang Long Industrial Park Operating House, Hanoi.

In addition to organizing bus trips to take workers home for Tet, the Hanoi Confederation of Labor also gave cash tickets to 5,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances. The financial support ranges from VND 500,000 per person for 2,000 workers from Nghe An and Ha Tinh; VND 300,000 per person for 3,000 workers from Thanh Hoa; Ha Giang, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Bac Can, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Lang Son.
