Over the past decade, bilateral trade between the US and Vietnam has quadrupled, rising from $30 billion to over $120 billion.
The Ambassador highlighted that in September, the US Agriculture Delegation made its largest-ever visit to Vietnam. Following this, the US transferred five T-6C training aircraft to Vietnam and announced $12.5 million to enhance Vietnam's maritime safety.

The Ambassador recalled his visit to Da Nang, highlighting the two countries' active efforts to heal the wounds of war. The US announced an additional $65 million to aid in dioxin remediation at Bien Hoa Airport and committed $26 million in grants to clear areas affected by unexploded ordnance from the war.
"We stood with Vietnam as a partner and friend in the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi, providing $1 million in emergency assistance to families directly impacted," Ambassador Knapper shared.
He expressed, "As we celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations in 2025, I am confident our partnership will thrive. Together, we will seize new opportunities, address global challenges, and build a prosperous, stable, and secure future for everyone. Thank you and Happy New Year!"
