US want to associate Hue in restoring the ancient capital: Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink
VNF - Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink has a strong impression of the beauty and people of Hue, see it as a "tourist paradise".
On December 12, Mr. Le Truong Luu, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Thua Thien-Hue Province, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink.
At the meeting, Le Truong Luu informed the Ambassador about the geographical position, natural resources, potentials, strengths and development orientation of the province. Accordingly, the province is opening up the integration, attracting investment and highly values partners from the United States.
He hoped that the Ambassador would be a bridge to strengthen the cooperation between Thua Thien-Hue and the United States in areas such as health, education, tourism, heritage preservation and recovery, bomb clearance, disaster prevention. Thereby, to promote the relationship between the two sides, Le Truong Luu emphasized.

Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink thanked the enthusiastic, thoughtful and warm reception of the leaders of Thua Thien-Hue. He stressed the trip was to tighten the relationship between the two sides. The Ambassador appreciated the potential and strengths of Thua Thien-Hue, especially the intelligence, creativity and enthusiasm of Hue students. He also expressed his wish to become a partner of Thua Thien-Hue in restoring historical relics, teaching foreign languages for Hue students, applying science and technology in medical field.
On the same day, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, also had a meeting with Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink. He highly appreciated the support, cooperation and assistance of the US Government in the areas of culture, education and disaster mitigation. The province has also actively cooperated with the US Government in searching the remains of American soldiers missing in the war in Vietnam.
Previously, on December 11, Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink and the delegation of the US Embassy had a visit to University of Foreign Languages, Hue University. Here, the Ambassador spent time talking with officials, lecturers and students about the cooperation between Vietnam and the United States, expressing optimism about the bright future of the two countries's relations./.
