Vienam-Laos Border Conference A Great Success

A high-level delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, led by Vice President cum General Secretary of the VFF Central Committee Le Tien Chau, paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Central Committee Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune on November 23, in Khammouane province.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the VFF Central Committee, Chau thanked the LFNC Central Committee for arranging a thoughtful reception of the high-ranking delegation of the VFF Central Committee led by Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, President of the VFF Central Committee, during a friendship visit to Laos from July 26 to 28. The visit was very successful and left many deep impressions on the people and the beautiful country of Laos.
Chau also thanked the LFNC Central Committee as well as relevant agencies of Laos for working closely with the VFF and Vietnamese partners for many practical activities, including creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living in Laos, contributing to the construction and development of Laos, and cultivating the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between two countries.
At the meeting, Chau congratulated the achievements of the LFNC in recent years. Informing his host about the results of the 7th international conference on the nations’ border of peace, friendship, and cooperation for mutual development in Savannakhet province, Chau said, after more than 5 years of signing the joint communiqué of the 6th conference in 2017 in Vietnam, its contents have been deployed and implemented more and more widely at all levels, with effective and practical results, especially in the border provinces, meeting the common wishes of the two peoples.

In the spirit of responsibility, friendship and solidarity, leaders of the Front Committees of 20 Vietnamese and Lao provinces have exchanged, discussed and signed the emulation covenant in order to successfully implement the joint communiqué.
From the success of the conference, Chau wished that Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune would continue to pay attention and direct the Lao Front to cooperate effectively and successfully with the VFF Central Committee implementing the joint communiqué successfully and with high efficiency.
Chau believes that the LFNC under the leadership of Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune will continue to promote its role and achieve more achievements in the coming time.
For his part, Khoutphaythoune thanked the VFF Central Committee Vice President-General Secretary and delegation for attending and making this year's international conference a great success.
At the same time, he hopes that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos will be forever green and sustainable.

On this occasion, the delegations of the front organizations of the two countries visited the President Ho Chi Minh memorial site in Xieng Vang village in Nong Bok district, Khammouane province.
At the memorial site, the first of its kind in Laos, Chau, and Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune offered incense in memory of the late President, deeply grateful for his great contributions to the two countries, the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

On the same day, the Vietnamese delegation had a cordial meeting with Secretary of the Party Committee and Governor of Khammoune province of Laos Vanxay Phongsavanh.
At the meeting, VFF Vice President - Secretary General Le Tien Chau was pleased to know that Khammouane province has a very close cooperation relationship with localities of Vietnam, especially with Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces which share a borderline with Khammouane.
In the coming time, Chau hopes that Khammouane province will continue to promote comprehensive cooperation in all fields to bring special traditional relations between localities of the two countries increasingly in-depth and effective, especially promoting the tradition of Vietnam - Laos cooperation relations, organizing activities of the Vietnam - Laos and Laos - Vietnam Year of Solidarity 2022; strengthening cooperation in human resource training and crime prevention in border areas.
Chau also suggested that Khammouane province continue to support and create conditions for Vietnamese businesses, citizens and workers in the locality; continue to support and create conditions for businesses of both sides to participate in trade fairs, conferences and investment promotion events.
