President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Phan Anh Son expressed his belief that under the leadership of the board, the association will obtain greater achievements in its work for stronger Viet Nam-Armenia ties.

According to a report presented at the event, given the positive development of the countries’ relations, the association has made efforts to improve its apparatus and operations and contribute to the bilateral friendship and cooperation. In a decade since its establishment in 2014, it saw its activities spanning such key areas as delegation exchanges for peace, solidarity and friendship purposes, connectivity in economy-trade and culture-education-science sectors, external relations communication, organisational building, and commendation work.

For the next term, it sets goals to further shake up performance for practical and specific outcomes in people-to-people diplomacy, and to launch communication campaigns introducing the Party and State’s domestic and foreign policies, Viet Nam’s development progress, and the two nations’ land, people, culture, and history.

Highlighting the association’s significant role in bridging the sides, Armenian Ambassador to Viet Nam Suren Baghdasaryan said his country promises Vietnamese students the most favorable conditions possible for their study in Armenia. The key point is to foster mutual understanding, respect, support and cooperation between the young people of the two nations, he stressed.

He acknowledged the active role of members of the Viet Nam - Armenia Friendship Association in developing bilateral relations, contributing to fostering friendship and cooperation between the two nations. The Armenian people always have deep affection and sympathy for the country and people of Viet Nam. In the past, the Armenian people always stood side by side with the Vietnamese people in the struggle for national liberation. Today, as two independent and dynamically developing countries, Armenia and Viet Nam need to continue to strengthen and develop this relationship.

He also expresses his hope to restore the tradition of educational cooperation, creating conditions for Vietnamese students to study in Armenia.

On this occasion, the VUFO presented an Emulation Flag bearing the words "Proactive, Flexible, Creative, Effective" to the Viet Nam - Armenia Friendship Association; awarded Certificates of Merit to the collective and three individuals of the friendship association with active contributions to people-to-people diplomacy in the 2014-2024 period.
