(VNF) - The Vietnam national flag carrier (Vietnam Airlines) has announced its plan to increase the number of flights during Independence Day 2017.

Accordingly, from September 1 to 4, the air carrier will offer an additional 40 one-way flights, (nearly 8,000 seats), on “hot routes” such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city/Da Nang/Da Lat/Nha Trang/Phu Quoc; and Ho Chi Minh city-Nha Trang/Phu Quoc.

The number of seats are expected to surpass 183,000 (both normal and peak period), up 6.3% compared to the same period of last year.

According to representative of Vietnam Airlines, the firm increases the number of flights because “Vietnam Airlines has forecast and taken account of the growing demand of passengers during this period since it started planning flight schedule for the year 2017.”

With this provisionary step, Vietnam Airlines hopes to minimize the unexpected cancellation and delay of flight, as well as ensuring sufficient supply in peak time, as normally, overload often occurs during public holidays.

Passengers are adviced to submit promotion code PR15SEP117 when making reservation online from September 1 – 6. The reservation is applicable for flights scheduled from September 5 to December 28, 2017.
