Vietnam Airlines transports apricot and peach blossoms for lunar new year 2016
(VNF) - From now to February 17th (January 10th of the lunar calendar), Vietnam Airlines will carry apricot and peach blossoms for the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) holiday on domestic flights.
Each passenger will be permitted to carry one branch of apricot or peach blossoms, measuring a maximum 150x40x40cm, as a special “Luggage consignment service” on flights, using Boeing 787/777, and Airbus A350/A330/A321 aircrafts.
They must register and confirm a space for their apricot or peach blossom at least three hours before departure time.
Fees will vary from VND275,000 to VND 440,000, including VAT, depending on the route.
Apricot, peach blossom and kumquat are among the traditional flowers and plants used by Vietnamese to decorate residences and offices during Tet, as symbols of warmth, wealth and good luck for the country’s biggest holiday. This year, the lunar New Year’s day falls on February 8th.
