At the meeting, Tran Anh Tuan, president of the Vietnam-Nepal Friendship Association appreciated the cooperation of the Nepal Peace and Solidarity Council (NPSC). This shows the real desire for cooperation between the two sides and the prospects for future cooperation.
The two sides reaffirmed the four cooperation contents agreed upon during the visit to Nepal of the Vietnam-Nepal Friendship Association last May.
These contents include proposals to open diplomatic missions in the territories of Vietnam and Nepal, connections to establish direct air routes between the two countries, and strengthening, and developing investment and trade relations.
The two countries connect and develop tourism and hotel activities, contributing to developing relations between Vietnam and Nepal.
To implement the above cooperation contents, the two sides agreed to coordinate to celebrate the major holidays of the two peoples in diverse forms and rich content.
They organized seminars, forums, fairs, coordinated annual delegation exchanges, as well as introduced business and tourism delegations to explore business opportunities in the two countries.
The two sides also proposed that the two governments honor, reward and award noble titles to organizations and individuals that have made great contributions to building and promoting the friendship between the two peoples.

At the meeting, leaders of the Vietnam-Nepal Friendship Association also proposed to the NPSC a number of exchange and cooperation activities in sports education and training.
These activities include sending a delegation of Nepalese athletes to Vietnam to study and develop the Vovinam martial art, and sending a group of English teachers to cooperate and work at English training facilities in Vietnam.
The Council provides information about the country, its people, and the culture of Nepal so that the Association can promote and introduce it to a large number of Vietnamese people.
Rabindra Adhikari, head of the Nepal Peace and Solidarity Council, supported these proposals and said "The activities that the two sides agreed to implement will be an important milestone in the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Nepal."
On December 12, the delegation of the Nepal Peace and Solidarity Council had a working session with Ha Van Sieu, deputy director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism. At the meeting, the two sides introduced the tourism potential of Vietnam and Nepal. Accordingly, Nepal is the country that owns eight of the ten highest mountains in the world, including Mount Everest. This is also the homeland of Buddhism, where Buddha was born and raised in Lumbini. Therefore, spiritual tourism and mountaineering tourism in Nepal have the potential to develop. Meanwhile, with a coastline of over 3,260km stretching from North to South, Vietnam has many beautiful beaches among the top in the region and in the world. Vietnamese tourism developed strongly over the past many years, and is also a key economic sector of Vietnam.
According to Ha Van Sieu, the tourism potential of Vietnam and Nepal is still promising. The tourism industries of the two countries have their own strengths that can complement each other for mutual development. In the coming time, the two sides can exchange business delegations to connect and promote tourism products, and conduct charter flights from tourist destinations of one country to the other. The two sides also promote cooperation and sign agreements between tourism agencies of the two countries. Head of NPSC Rabindra Adhikari said that through tourism cooperation and connection, other fields such as economics, trade, and people-to-people exchanges of the two countries will certainly also be promoted and strongly developed. |
