Vietnam, Brazil strengthen cooperation among localities

VUFO Vice President Don Tuan Phong welcomes the Brazilian Foreign Minister to visit and work in Vietnam.

Don Tuan Phong said VUFO is a political-social organization in charge of the people's external relations. The mission of the organization is to develop friendly relations between the Vietnamese people and the people of the world, to support the world people in the struggle for peace and national independence; propaganda about the country, people, development policy of Vietnam.

VUFO now has 65 member organizations in which the Vietnam – Brazil Friendship Organization is one of the most important members. Over the past year, the Vietnam – Brazil Friendship Organization has carried out many activities to enhance the understanding and multi-faceted cooperation between the Vietnamese people and the people of Brazil.

Don Tuan Phong suggested Brazilian Foreign Minister to propose to the Brazilian government the strengthening of exchanges and cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil at both central and local levels.

At the same time, VUFO Vice President proposed that the Brazilian government create favorable conditions for the friendship organizations of the two countries to develop exchange and cooperation in all fields.

Vice President Don Tuan Phong hopes that Brazil will support the representatives of Vietnam who is running for UNESCO Director General.

For his part, Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira appreciated the activities of VUFO and the Vietnam-Brazil Friendship Association for world peace.

He emphasized the importance of promoting cooperation between the two peoples. Currently, about 25,000 Brazilians travel to Vietnam annually. Therefore, tourism is one of the most important areas for promoting cooperation. In addition, the two countries have great potential for cooperation in other fields such as sports, music, cuisine.

In addition, Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira said that some localities in Brazil are looking forward to visiting and learning experience from Vietnam. In the coming time, the two countries should strengthen linkage activities in localities as this will contribute to educating the young generation of two countries about good friendship cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil./.
