Vietnam, Cuba Eye Stronger Judicial Cooperation

A delegation of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam, led by Vice President Nguyen Van Tien, Vice President, paid an official visit to Cuba from May 13 to 18, aiming to promote professional relations with the Supreme People’s Court of Cuba and attend the 11th International Judicial and Legal Conference in Cuba.

During a meeting with Ruben Remigio Ferro, President of the Supreme People’s Court of Cuba, Vice President Nguyen Van Tien shared the milestones of the development of the cooperative relationship between the two sides.

After 11 years of the implementation of the "Memorandum of Judicial Cooperation between the Supreme Court of Vietnam and Cuba," the judicial systems of the two countries have significantly improved. Tien believed that the cooperation between the courts of the two countries had reached a new level.

In response, Ruben Remicio Ferro, President of the Supreme People's Court of Cuba, introduced the direction of the modernization of the Cuban court system, especially in the field of digitalization. Ferro pointed out that the process of improving the judicial systems of the two countries deserves attention and he is willing to share relevant experience in judicial work with Vietnam. He suggested that the two sides strengthen business exchanges or jointly hold seminars to understand the similarities between the two countries better.

During their visit to Cuba, the delegation from the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam attended the 134th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh held in Ho Chi Minh Park in Havana and visited the Fidel Castro Center.
