Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the President of the Italy-Vietnam Friendship Association in the Veneto region, Mr. Renato Darsie highlighted the significance of the Cultural House in Venice.

Renato affirmed that along with the Vietnamese language being taught at Ca’ Foscari University, the Vietnam Cultural House in Venice would further promote cooperation and cultural exchange between Italy and Vietnam.

He expressed his hope that through the Cultural House in Venice, cultural exchange cooperation between the two countries or with the Veneto region would be strengthened shortly.

On this occasion, Pham Hung Vuong, a Vietnamese student in Venice, said that there are about 50 Vietnamese students studying in Venice, but they have no facility for studying and exchanging with international friends. Therefore, the Vietnam Cultural House will be a good place for Vietnamese students in Italy to exchange, study, and promote Vietnamese culture to Italian and international friends.

At the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Duong Hai Hung thanked Mr. Renato and the Italy-Vietnam Friendship Association for their efforts to coordinate with regional and local authorities to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese students to have such an important facility.

On this occasion, Ambassador Hung also met with members of the Italy-Vietnam Friendship Association in the Veneto region, the Italy-Cuba Friendship Association, and scholars interested in Vietnam, and hosted a discussion themed “Vietnam Today”.

During the discussion, Ambassador Duong Hai Hung reviewed Vietnam's achievements after 35 years of Doi Moi, and presented the main points of the 10-year socio-economic development strategy in 2021-2030 for Italian friends to better understand Vietnam./.
