Vietnam, Czech Republic Strengthen Traditional Friendship

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to developing friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with traditional friends, of which the Czech Republic is one of the priority partners.

On the evening of January 15, Tran Quang Phuong, vice chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong welcomed Chairman of the Committee on Public Administration, Regional Development and Environment of the Czech Republic Zbynek Linhart.

At the reception, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to developing friendly relations and good multifaceted cooperation with traditional friends, including the Czech Republic.

Nearly 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have always maintained the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially visits by senior leaders.

On the basis of developing, stable and effective bilateral relations, the two countries need to coordinate to establish the necessary conditions to soon upgrade relations between the two countries.

Emphasizing that Vietnam has become the Czech Republic's largest trading partner in ASEAN, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that the two countries can promote further cooperation in other fields. Vietnam always creates favorable conditions for foreign investors, including Czech businesses, to do business in Vietnam.

He thanked the Czech Republic for recognizing the Vietnamese community in Czech as an ethnic minority. This is a testament to the traditional relationship between the two countries.

Tran Quang Phuong said the National Assembly and Parliament of the two countries regularly exchange high-level delegations. This is an important channel to promote relations between the two countries.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly proposed that the two sides continue to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, and strengthen cooperation between the Parliamentary Friendship Groups of the National Assembly and Parliament of the two countries.

The two sides promote the role of the National Assembly and Parliament in monitoring the implementation of cooperation agreements signed between the two countries.

Appreciating the close cooperation and coordination between the two countries at multilateral forums and international organizations, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that the Czech Republic will continue to coordinate closely at multilateral forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP).

Chairman of the Committee on Public Administration, Regional Development and Environment of the Czech Republic Zbynek Linhart said that this working visit to Vietnam aims to promote the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Czech, the National Assembly and Parliament of the two countries to further develop in the coming time.

Appreciating the results Vietnam has achieved in the process of socio-economic construction and development in recent times, Zbynek Linhart affirmed that Vietnam is a traditional and meaningful friend with the Czech Republic.

In the coming time, the two sides need to strengthen and consolidate comprehensive cooperation between the National Assembly/Parliament as well as the Government to make the relationship between the two countries more practical and effective.

Emphasizing the potential for tourism cooperation between the two countries, Zbynek Linhart hopes that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to create favorable conditions to promote tourism activities, trade cooperation, investment, and exchanges.
