Ho Hau Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of the International Science and Technology Innovation Forum attended and presided over the plenary session with representatives from more than 20 countries (South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos).

Discussion at the Conference emphasized the trends of international scientific and technological innovation, intellectual property in the digital economy, innovation, green economy in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and challenges and opportunities for intellectual property.

The Representative of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou attended the Conference and stressed the role of innovation and intellectual property in Vietnam, the significance of raising awareness about intellectual property as a foundation to promote innovation, as well as Vietnam’s policies on innovation. He also proposed to conduct research on the establishment of bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms in order to foster practical and effective coordination among Asian countries.

In a discussion with the representative of the Vietnam Science and Technology Office in Guangzhou, Ly Bao Dong, Secretary-General of the Boao Forum, said that the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated global restructuring and innovation, with Asia being one of the most active regions in the world in terms of innovation activities and China playing a key role.

In recent years, technological innovation has been the area of focus of ​​the Boao Forum for Asia.
