Vietnamese and Chinese Students Foster Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Speaking at the forum, the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City Wei Hua Xiang said that China and Vietnam are linked by rivers and mountains, with a close-knit culture and a long-standing traditional friendship. The older generation leaders of the two parties are always concerned about the development of the youth.

Consul General Wei Hua Xiang said that the youth of the two countries should live up to the expectations of leaders of the two parties and two countries, enhance exchanges, improve friendship, and contribute to China-Vietnam relations in the new period.

In China, youth are the main force of innovation and entrepreneurship. Over the past 8 years, the innovation and entrepreneurship activities of students have flourished into a movement, and many universities have also established innovation and entrepreneurship centers.

In Vietnam, young people are also the main force of innovation and entrepreneurship. In recent years, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union considers "creativity of the youth" an important activity and task. They provide creative ideas for each activity, to strengthen creativity, and economic and social development.

“I hope that the youth of the two countries will strengthen cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship. The two countries will foster the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperation through innovation and start-up platforms,” said Consulate General Wei Hua Xiang.

Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, head of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said that in Vietnam, innovation is in many fields, especially science and technology to emphasize the driving role of this factor.

The teaching and training activities of the university over the years have clearly demonstrated these two new approaches, innovation, and entrepreneurship, in the international and national contexts.

"We are working with partners to build a social hub where research groups including teachers, students and partners can share and discuss to identify social needs. We also aim to build social innovation training programs to put into formal teaching.

"We have introductory programs on entrepreneurship and specialized entrepreneurship competitions for students. We participate in networks to help increase career and entrepreneurship opportunities for them."

The forum was held in 1 day with 11 presentations from lecturers and businessmen from Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Guangxi University of China, and China Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City.

The forum discusses the achievements and experiences of innovative entrepreneurship of universities and colleges in Vietnam-China. The event also mentioned the harmony between career and education, and the students' ability to innovate.

The forum outlines opportunities and difficulties for students; researches the development of high-quality, innovative entrepreneurship education in the new era.
