Under the authorization of Italian friends from the Italy - Vietnam Friendship Association in the Veneto region and Piemonte, Vice President of the Vietnam - Italy Friendship Association Dang Khanh Thoai (left) handed the book “Ho Chi Minh, one man and one nation " for PhD Vu Manh Ha, Director of Ho Chi Minh Museum.

Speaking at the ceremony, former Ambassador of Vietnam to Italy, Vice President of the Vietnam- Italy Friendship Association Dang Khanh Thoai said that Vietnamese people's struggle for independence and national reunification has won strong, enduring and effective support of peoples in the world in general and Italy in particular. The distribution and dissemination of the two publications "Ho Chi Minh, one man and one nation" and "Duong Kach Menh" are proof of the struggle movement that the Italian people used during that time. This is a work of historical significance and very precious exhibits to be necessary to protect and preserve.

President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Phuong Nga was impressed with the book "Ho Chi Minh, one man and one nation".

According to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Vietnam, Antonio Alessandro, the theme of this year's Italian World Week is Italian in expression language, especially comic books. The work "Ho Chi Minh, one man and one nation" chosen to introduce today is not only suitable for the topic but also especially meaningful because of its representing the connection between Vietnam and Italy.

The magazine released this comic book called Vie Nuove (New Road) owned by the Communist Party of Italy at that time. It can be said that the magazine dedicates a special issue with 12 volumes inside to describe the revolution and that President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam shows great admiration of the magazine's owners to the Vietnamese revolution.

“The book is small but it is accompanied by a great deal of sentiment and friendship and the solidarity between Italy and Vietnam' peoples. And that sentiment has been nurtured and developed to this day ”- Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Antonio Alessandro said.

Also according to Ambassador Antonio Alessandro, just five years after the publication of this book, in 1973, from the port of Genoa, an Australe friendship ship carrying medicine and necessities by Captain Luciano Sossai arrived at the port of Hai Phong to to support the Vietnamese people in the resistance war against the US imperialists and to unify the country. In fact, these were donations and aid done by the people of the port of Genoa (Italy). Also from the first relations between the two seaports' people, the Vietnamese Hai Phong city and the Italian Genoa city built up a friendship relation. That relationship has lasted from the 1970s until now.

And 47 years later, there have had support and assistance of the opposite that from Hai Phong port ,a ship carrying masks and medical supplies sent to support the Italian people in the fight against COVID-19 virus.

On this occasion, the Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Antonio Alessandro sent his sincere thanks to the Vietnamese people and the Vietnam - Italy Friendship Association, he highly appreciated that the Vietnamese people gave Italy essential materials for COVID-19 prevention in the context of its development becoming more complicated in Italy.

The participants of the event watched the introduction of two publications "Ho Chi Minh, one man and one nation" and "Duong Kach Menh" in Italian.

It is known that the Italian comic book "Ho Chi Minh, un uomo e un popolo" (Ho Chi Minh, one man and one nation) was collected and presented by Mr. Fabio Marangon and Mrs.Catia Casti, members of the Italian-Vietnamese Association of the Veneto region to Ho Chi Minh Museum through the Vietnam - Italy Friendship Association.

In 2016, Mr. Marangon and Mrs. Casti also collected and presented to Ho Chi Minh Museum a record of President Ho Chi Minh's call to the Italian people by lawyer Lelio Basso, member of the Crime Investigation Team on the American Empirialists in Vietnam recorded directly in Hanoi in March 1967.

With the aim of increasing the dissemination of the Italian story collection "Ho Chi Minh, one man and one nation" to the masses of the Vietnamese public, it is expected that the Vietnam - Italy Friendship Association will coordinate with Kim Dong Publishing House on translation and publication of the story book in Vietnamese. The Vietnam - Italy Friendship Association and Kim Dong Publishing House will coordinate with Ho Chi Minh Museum to introduce the book in 2021, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Uncle Ho's departure to find the way for the country's liberalization.

On the occasion of introducing and presenting Ho Chi Minh Museum books, on behalf of the Italian - Vietnam Association, the Vietnam - Italy Friendship Association also presented the work "La via della Rivoluzione" to Mr Antonio Alessandro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Vietnam and Ms. Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.
