Vietnam - Japan’s second largest partner in software outsourcing
Since 2014, Vietnam has been reported to be the second largest partner of Japan in software and service outsourcing.

The information was announced at the 10th Information Communication Technology (ICT) Day in Hanoi on October 26th.
Having been held annually since 2007, Japan ICT Day is the most important cooperation activity between Vietnamese and Japanese IT companies held by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and the Vietnam-Japan IT Cooperation Club (VJC).
There are currently over 10 Vietnamese software enterprises establishing companies or branches in Japan, making the sector the one with the largest number of enterprises investing in Japan.
Nguyen Thanh Hung, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, said that the ministry always considers cooperation with Japan an important factor for the development of the IT sector in Vietnam.
Besides, the ministry has put forth 5 key tasks for the development of the sector, including developing human resources, especially high quality human resources; building concentrated IT areas, hi-tech zones and software parks; modernizing the national information infrastructure; efficiently applying IT in State-owned agencies, enterprises and society; and promoting start-ups in the IT sector.
Ms Yuko Adachi, Vice President at Gartner Japan, appreciated the great development of the IT sector in Vietnam. According to Ms Yuko Adachi, Vietnam has a lot of competitive advantages, including support from the Government, good infrastructure, political stability, large number of human resources, good ability in language, good protection of customers’ information, and compliance with international standards.
During Japan ICT Day 2016, Vietnam and Japan signed 2 memorandums of understanding (MoU) on promoting deeper cooperation among members of the two countries’ IT associations./.
