The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport has approved the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV)’s proposal to allow Boeing 737 Max planes to pass through the country’s airspace.
The ministry told the CAA to keep monitoring the situation and updating information from aviation authorities of other countries like Russia, Australia and China.
The authority needs to make specific evaluation of the planes, the ministry said, noting that the full approval and licences should be issued only when the aircraft satisfies local regulations.
The proposal was made after the CAAV reviewed Boeing’s efforts to improve the aircraft and the evaluation of major aviation authorities such as the US Federal Aviation Administration and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
