Vietnam, Mongolia Enhance Traditional Friendship
On September 11, Minister of Public Security General To Lam held talks with Mongolian Minister of Justice and Home Affairs Khishgee Nyambaatar within the framework of his working visit to Vietnam.
At the talks, Minister Lam appreciated the visit to Vietnam of the high-level delegation of the Mongolian Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs led by Minister Khishgee Nyambaatar and attacked the great importance of the cooperative relations between the two ministries and the traditional friendship between the two countries.
Lam emphasized that the governments and people of the two countries have continuously strived to develop a comprehensive friendship between Vietnam and Mongolia. The two countries are also preparing for the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (November 17, 1954 - November 17, 2024).
Vietnam and Mongolia still have a lot of potential for cooperation to strengthen the bilateral relationship and for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
Along with the bilateral relations development, Lam expressed his delight that the cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Mongolian law enforcement agencies, including the Mongolian Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs has been proactively promoted.

The two sides signed an Agreement between Vietnam and Mongolia on Crime Prevention and Combat; a Treaty on the Transfer of Sentenced Prisons; a Treaty on Extradition; Agreement on Cooperation in Building the Cavalry Force. The Vietnamese Minister also shared that horses from Mongolia gifted to Vietnam to build the cavalry force have been well cared for.
From the Mongolian side, Minister Khishgee Nyambaatar expressed his delight at the warm and thoughtful welcome of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to the delegations of the Mongolian Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs. He also discussed recent positive achievements between the two sides and expressed his wish to deepen and broaden the friendship in the near future.
Accordingly, at the talks, the two ministers reached agreements on several important points to promote greater collaboration between the two countries in general, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs of Mongolia in particular.
Specifically, the two sides will continue to promote delegation exchanges at all levels and maintain close and effective cooperation between the two Ministries and relevant agencies of Mongolia.
In the immediate future, the two sides will coordinate to prepare for the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations in 2024.
Vietnam and Mongolia will further promote cooperation in preventing crimes; enhancing the exchange of information, experience, training cooperation, and capacity building for staff to effectively prevent and fight crimes in areas including corruption, drugs, and transnational crimes, contributing to peace, stability and security in the region and the world.
The two sides have actively coordinated to effectively implement signed agreements between the two countries. Moreover, the two countries have jointly prepared for the signing of cooperation documents in the areas of immigration and drug prevention; and cooperated to create favorable conditions for citizens of one nation to reside, study, and work in another nation.
