First Vietnamese Language Class Opens In Myanmar

On November 10, in Yangon, Myanmar, the Vietnam-Myanmar Cultural Night was held, featuring professional performances by artists from the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song troupe and Myanmar artists under the collaboration of the Myanmar Cultural Heritage Fund.

Amidst an atmosphere rich in the sounds and colors of Vietnamese and Myanmar national cultures, the event captivated and was warmly received by an audience of 280 guests, including Myanmar friends, diplomats, business representatives, and the Vietnamese community.

This special event was not only an occasion for cultural exchange between artists from both countries but also a chance for the audience to appreciate the unique musical beauty of Vietnam and Myanmar.

In his speech at the event, Mr. Ly Quoc Tuan, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar, shared, “The Vietnam-Myanmar Cultural Night is an opportunity for us to come together to honor and preserve traditional musical values, as well as a bridge to enhance understanding and cultural exchange between the people of both countries.”

The program opened with Quan Ho folk songs from Bac Ninh, one of Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO in 2009.

Renowned Bac Ninh Quan Ho artists led the audience into a smooth, delicate, and emotional musical space through the sweet melodies of their homeland. Quan Ho folk songs are not just songs; they tell profound stories of love and homeland, touching the hearts of listeners.

The night continued with a highlight of Myanmar’s traditional music – its unique folk melodies.

Myanmar artists performed traditional music pieces using traditional instruments such as the harp and Myanmar's signature drums. The harmonious blend of rhythmic sounds and melodious tunes created an enchanting, soulful atmosphere characteristic of Myanmar’s cultural heritage.

The fusion of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs and Myanmar traditional music created a special ambiance, richly embodying national identities while opening the door to a diverse and vibrant cultural exchange. The performances, delivered by talented artists from both nations, were meticulous, heartfelt, and full of artistry.

The Vietnam-Myanmar Cultural Night concluded with enthusiastic applause from the audience, leaving a memorable mark on those in attendance and standing as an important milestone in fostering friendship and cultural cooperation between Vietnam and Myanmar.
