Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan held a meeting with New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Tredene Dobson as she led the Embassy's delegation on a working visit to Binh Dinh provinceon last June 9.

At the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan highly appreciated New Zealand's cooperation with Binh Dinh province in the fields of agriculture and rural development, as well as education and training.

In particular, the highlight of the cooperation is the success of the Sustainable Rural Livelihood Project. After 5 years (2016-2021) of project implementation, there are currenly 1,260 farmer households in Binh Dinh province participated.

According to the provincial leader, the participants not only improve food safety for consumers, but also a premise for Binh Dinh province to continue to expand production of safe vegetables in particular and clean agricultural products in general.

Also, Binh Dinh province has been supported by the New Zealand Government through New Zealand - Vietnam Health Trust Organization to deploy many support activities and transfer technical expertise in the field of external injury, pediatrics, and hematology.

Pham Anh Tuan believed that the relationship between the two countries can achieve more good results and wished the exchange and cooperation relationship between Binh Dinh province and partners from New Zealand will contribute further strengthened the bilateral ties.

In response, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Tredene Dobson affirmed that the Embassy will continue its support for the existing cooperation in Binh Dinh. Also, the cooperation should focus on the development of sustainable tourism, especially building community tourism models.

The foreign diplomat added that the New Zealand Government continued to select Binh Dinh province as one of the next five provinces and cities in Vietnam to support the implementation of the Phase 3 Dike Safety Program. The Ambassador will act as a bridge for the cooperation relationship. In that spirit, the good cooperation and friendship between two peoples, in particular, will be significantly enhanced.
