In order to prevent the COVID-19 disease from spreading from the border areas, officials and soldiers at the Chieng Khuong Border Guard Station, Son La province are strictly controlling each trail and path in both day and night time. Officials and border guards have always maintained determination to prevent the disease from entering the country.
One of the two checkpoints of the Chieng Khuong Border Guard Station is located at a trail near the landmark 209. After the cyclone in the night of March 24, the roof was blown off by the wind and the rain poured inside. The next day, the officials and soldiers here urgently repaired to ensure living conditions. These checkpoints have between 5 and 6 officers taking turns of guarding regardless of day and night. Despite many hardships, each person makes effort with the highest determination to soon detect and prevent the COVID-19 epidemic from affecting the area.
Kien Giang province has the land and sea bordering Cambodia. Officers and soldiers on this border line stick to each trail, control strictly at sea as well as on land, preventing COVID-19 with the spirit of "fighting against the epidemic is like fighting against the enemy".
In the middle of the hot March days, marching with officers and soldiers of the Border Guard posts on the Ha Tien - Giang Thanh border, pointing towards the milestones from 312 to 313 dividing Vietnam - Cambodia, Luu Dac Nhanh, Head of Border Guard Station, Ha Tien International Border Gate - Border Guard of Kien Giang province shared that the Southwest border is an open border. |
On the Ha Tien - Giang Thanh border, in addition to the two international border gates of Ha Tien and Giang Thanh, many trails and paths are open, especially in the dry season, people on both sides of the border can easily cross. Next, the sea borders a wide area with many large estuaries; canals penetrate deeply into the mainland so people on both sides cross the border by waterway conveniently. In addition, people on both sides of the border have a long tradition of relations, communication, back and forth visits, business, trading...So when ordering to close trails, Ha Tien International Border Gate faces many difficulties. They have to propagandize and persuade people to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic, which is spreading dangerously in the community.
In addition to setting up a stop to prevent passersby, the highlight in the COVID-19 epidemic prevention on the Ha Tien - Giang Thanh border line of Kien Giang Border Guard is the enhancement of effective communication and advocacy. Each border station deployed the speaker and broadcast information about the evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic in the country and the world, the danger of this disease, and how to prevent according to the Health industry. Thereby, the people in the border areas will have more knowledge and awareness about the prevention of COVID-19 epidemic, together limiting the crossing of borders through trails and shortcuts.
