Vietnam is determined to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
On May 5, during the business trip to the United States, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai met with United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai affirmed that Vietnam supports multilateralism and a world order based on international law and the United Nations Charter.
Vietnam supports the central role of the United Nations in the global governance system to respond to common challenges and will contribute to major priorities of the United Nations in the coming time.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai said Vietnam is determined to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and respond to climate change. Vietnam supports United Nations initiatives to accelerate the realization of sustainable development goals.
The Deputy Prime Minister asked the United Nations to prioritize supporting Vietnam in mobilizing finance, transferring technology, sharing knowledge and practical experience, especially in some areas such as improving the ability to respond and adapt to climate change, effective management of water resources, energy conversion, innovation, and digital transformation.

United Nations organizations ready to support Vietnam to accelerate implementation of development goals
United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed said the world is entering an important period with many global challenges, requiring countries to uphold multilateralism, and promote cooperation to fulfill sustainable development goals.
Amina Mohammed said that Vietnam is an important partner of the United Nations.
She hopes that Vietnam will coordinate in implementing the United Nations agenda, including responding to climate change, energy transition, digital transformation, maintaining the food supply chain, promoting education, ensuring inclusive development, and social justice.
Amina Mohammed affirmed that United Nations organizations are ready to support Vietnam in mobilizing resources, helping Vietnam accelerate the implementation of development goals, especially in energy conversion and response to climate change.
Visiting Cornell Technology School
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai visited and spoke at Cornell Technology School, part of the long-standing and prestigious Cornell University in the United States.
School principal Greg Morrisett said that although established in 2011, the school made a great contribution to the development of human resources in the field of science and technology.
The school also helped launch more than a hundred New York City technology startups.
The school's training programs focus on fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, algorithms, and cyber security.
The Principal of Cornell Technology School also appreciated cooperation with Vietnamese universities as well as the quality of Vietnamese students studying at the school.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai expressed his joy at visiting one of the leading universities in the United States and the world, and one of the universities that promoted educational cooperation with Vietnam.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the school continue to promote cooperation and coordinate research on joint training programs with major universities in Vietnam.
