Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nun Thich Nu Gioi Tanh, President of the Association of Vietnamese Buddhists in Republic of Korea (RoK), Director of the Vietnamese Cultural Center in RoK said that this cultural exchange program aims to contribute to enhancing the friendship, connecting the people of Vietnam and RoK. This is also an opportunity to promote the image of the country, people, and culture of Vietnam to Korean and international friends.

According to Nun Thich Nu Gioi Tanh, in recent years, Buddhists and members of the Center have devoted a lot of enthusiasm and effort to connect the Vietnamese community in RoK towards the home country; actively contribute to building a bridge of friendship between the two countries Vietnam - RoK through cultural exchange activities and preserving the Vietnamese language.
Ambassador Nguyen Phu Binh, President of the Association of Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese, highly appreciated the efforts of the Vietnamese Cultural Center in RoK as well as overseas Vietnamese in general. The overseas Vietnamese community is an important factor contributing to promoting friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries, including the RoK.

According to Ambassador Nguyen Phu Binh, Vietnam - RoK have become close friends and leading partners of each other. The organization of exchange activities like today by overseas Vietnamese associations has an important meaning in connecting Vietnamese people with their fatherland. This is also an effective means of strengthening friendly and cooperative relations between the two peoples.

According to Chang Eun Sook, President of the Association of Koreans in Vietnam, there are currently about 200,000 Koreans living and working in Vietnam and more than 300,000 Vietnamese people living and working in Korea. Relations between the two countries have achieved many accomplishments in the fields of politics, economics, culture, people-to-people exchanges, etc.
