On May 15, at the Presidential Palace in Buenos Aires, Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina, Ngo Minh Nguyet, presented a Letter of Credence to Argentine President Javier Milei.

Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet expressed her pleasure to be appointed Ambassador to Argentina.

She also looks forward to working closely with the Argentine Government to further expand and deepen Vietnam-Argentina relations in all fields in the coming time.

Vietnam and Argentina established diplomatic relations on October 25, 1973, and established comprehensive partnership in 2010.

Over the past half century, relations between the two countries have continuously developed and strengthened in all fields, especially politics, economics, trade and culture, through party, government and people channels.

The two sides maintain the exchange of high-level delegations, as well as delegations from ministries, branches and localities. The two countries also effectively deployed political consultation mechanisms between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and the Intergovernmental Committee.

Economic, trade and investment cooperation have become the foundation for long-term relations between the two countries. In the period 2004-2023, bilateral trade exchange increased nearly 17 times, from US$204 million to US$3.45 billion.

Vietnam is currently Argentina's 6th largest trading partner, and 5th largest export market in the world, while Argentina is Vietnam's 3rd largest trading partner in Latin America.

Argentina supports Vietnam in negotiating a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), including Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay.

This contributes practically to the economic development of each country and MERCOSUR countries, creating long-term, strong relationships, and bringing Vietnam-Argentina bilateral relations to a new level.
