Vietnam Seeks Germany's Support in Accessing Green Financial Sources

At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that in its foreign policy, Vietnam always attaches importance, and prioritizes developing relations with Germany, the leading power in Europe, and the world.
Vietnam wishes to deepen the strategic partnership with Germany through the Party, National Assembly, Government, and people-to-people exchanges.
Germany is a leading economic partner, the market for nearly 20% of Vietnam's exports to the EU, and Germany is the gateway for Vietnamese goods to go to European markets. Vietnam is Germany's leading trading partner in Southeast Asia and ranks 7th in Asia.
The National Assembly Chairman proposed that the German President continue to support, and encourage German businesses to invest and do business in Vietnam in heavy industry, energy, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and transportation infrastructure.
He thanked Germany for supporting the signing of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
He also asked President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to support the German National Assembly to soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), opening up new opportunities for German businesses to continue to expand investment and business in Vietnam.
The Chairman of the National Assembly thanked the German Government for providing ODA to help Vietnam over the past three decades in macroeconomic reform, environment, health, education, and vocational training, making an important contribution to socio-economic development in Vietnam.
Vietnam hopes to continue to receive effective support and cooperation from Germany in this field.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that to strengthen cooperative relations between the two countries, including the National Assembly, this visit includes a representative of the German National Assembly. This shows the importance of developing cooperative relations between the two countries and the two Parliaments.

In the overall strategic partnership between Vietnam and Germany, the value of peace and the view of resolving conflicts peacefully, based on international law, are common values that the two countries promote and respect.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier agreed with the opinion of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue that economic cooperation is the pillar of the two countries' relationship, is developing positively, and still has a lot of potential.
With the desire to increase economic and trade exchanges, representatives of German businesses wish to seek investment and business opportunities in Vietnam.
According to President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to contribute to strengthening economic relations between the two countries, removing administrative barriers is important in both countries. Specifically, on the German side, it is improving and simplifying procedural regulations to receive professional workers from Vietnam.
The President also said that renewable energy, green energy, and finance are important issues. Germany is interested in technological cooperation with Vietnam. Along with reducing net emissions to zero, the two countries will soon cooperate in this field.
