Vietnam Times launches news site in Laotian and Khmer language
(VNF) - The Thời Đại (Vietnam Times), the news agency working under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) on June 14 launched its Laotian and Khmer language online sites.

The Laotian and Khmer site's address are at huunghivietlao.thoidai.com.vn, and huunghivietnamcampuchia.thoidai.com.vn, respectively.
In addition to being a corner where memories of the beautiful cross-border friendship are kept and shared, the new online sites will serve as the channels where readers can find the latest update on various cooperation activities in economics, culture, education, between the people, organizations and enterprises of Vietnam and those in Laos and Cambodia.
Furthermore, the Laotian and Khmer sites of the Vietnam Times also focus on creating a forum for readers to interact and exchange their viewpoints effectively.

The new sites also focus on introducing to readers of Laotian and Khmer languages the dynamic image of Vietnam at present, with various development achievements.
At the same time, the two news sites are the channels bringing the land and people of Laos and Cambodia closer to Vietnamese people.
Addressing the launching event, VUFO Vice President Bui Khac Son spoke highly of the two new sites' role in connecting Vietnam and Lao and Cambodian friends. He also congratulated the Vietnam Times' leaders and staff on successully establishing the two news site, a project that has taken a lot of hard work to complete.

Talking about the Laotian and Khmer language news sites, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Times, Luong Chi Cong, highlighted Vietnam's highest priority on cultivating the traditional friendship with Laos and Cambodia, in the past struggle for national liberation and the current cause of national development and defence.

According to the senior journalist, amidst complicated changes of the regional and global situation, quality friendly communication products are highly needed to consolidate the ties among countries, especially with those sharing the border with Vietnam, he said, adding that with the establishment of the Lao and Khmer version, the Vietnam Times wishes to help maintain and tighten the bonds between Vietnam and its neighbor countries.
