Vietnam Top Leader Meet Heads of the Communist Party and Left-wing Organizations in USA

	Vietnam, China Issue Joint Statement on General Secretary, President To Lam Visit
	Overseas Vietnamese Make Important Contributions to Success of People's Diplomacy

According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, within the framework of his ongoing working trip, to attend the United Nations' Future Summit, the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, and work in the United States, General Secretary and President To Lam had a meeting and exchange with the Communist Party, left-wing organizations and friends in the United States. The meeting was held on the afternoon of September 22, in New York.

The Party Central Committees's Commission for External Relations, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, and the Vietnamese Delegation to the United Nations coordinated to organize the meeting.

The meeting was attended by delegates from many states, representing thousands of American friends who have connections and sentiments for Vietnam, including leaders of the Communist Party USA, left-wing organizations, activists for peace, veterans, friends, and representatives of charitable, humanitarian, religious, non-governmental organizations and businesses.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, delegates expressed their emotions at being able to attend the meeting with General Secretary and President To Lam. They talked about their special feelings and various support for Vietnam over the years.

Co-chair of the Communist Party USA Rossana Cambron expressed her deep impression of a modern, prosperous Vietnam with a socialist-oriented market economy. She considered Vietnam a model for sustainable growth, and life quality improvement, and an example in implementing socialist society theory into reality. She confirmed the desire to strengthen relations between the two Parties in the coming time.

John McAucliff, Executive Director of the Fund for Reconciliation & Development, expressed his impression of the two countries' reconciliation, of the strong development in all fields within the comprehensive strategic partnership framework. He expressed his hope that Vietnam would share its experiences to promote reconciliation and development in relations between the peoples.

Many delegates told their stories and experiences in promoting mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Executive Director of Project 2 Organization Margot Delogne was moved to talk about the change from hatred to friendship of a child who lost his father in the American war in Vietnam, the effort to connect people who lost their parents in the war on both sides, to find peace of mind and promote mutual understanding and building friendship.

There were also stories of the efforts to support peace, to oppose the use of nuclear weapons in Vietnam by representatives of the December 12 Movement, Peter and Cora Weiss, who were willing to share their experiences in peace negotiations with the Vietnamese delegation at the Paris Conference, and to donate to send a ship of food to Vietnam during the country's difficult years.

General Secretary and President To Lam thanked comrades and friends for their attendance. He expressed his respect and emotion for the support and affection of communist comrades, friends, and people of the United States for the Party, State, and people of Vietnam over the years.

He briefed the participants on Vietnam's progress following nearly four decades of Doi Moi, the accomplishments in realizing the objectives of the 13th National Party Congress. He said that the upcoming 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam in early 2026 will signify a crucial milestone, heralding the Vietnamese people's ascent on the unwavering journey towards socialism.

The General Secretary and President of Vietnam affirmed the policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, friendship, and development in Vietnam's relations with other countries, including the United States. He emphasized the message that Vietnam is actively engaged in promoting peace and reconciliation globally, and participates in addressing common challenges faced by humanity.

During the meeting, the General Secretary and President offered congratulations and presented the Friendship Medal to individuals who have significantly contributed to enhancing the relationship between the two nations' peoples. Representing the recipients, John McAuliff and Cora Weiss conveyed their heartfelt thanks and emotions. They regard the distinction of receiving this prestigious award as a tribute to the tens of thousands of Americans who cherish and support Vietnam. They reaffirmed their commitment to furthering understanding, fostering friendship, and enhancing cooperation between the two nations in the future.
