The ceremony began with a talk by Richard Quah, a Malaysian court official invited by the Vietnamese Embassy, who discussed with Vietnamese women who are married to Malaysian men legal problems facing them.
A person working for many years as a notary and Vietnamese interpreter in the courts for Vietnamese people in Malaysia, Mr. Quah shared a lot of helpful experience on legal issues that Vietnamese women often encounter, such as that involving property ownership, paperwork, porce and jobs.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Pham Cao Phong stressed that the Party and State in general, as well as the Embassy in particular, always care for the lives of Vietnamese brides abroad. The invitation of the legal expert to exchange and share with Vietnamese brides in Malaysia was part of this purpose.
The women exchanged and shared difficulties and obstacles they encounter in their daily life there, and hoped for continued attention and support from the Embassy to gain a more favourable life in the country.
Ambassador Phong said that in the coming time, the Embassy will organize more consultation sections in other fields such as land and finance, to exchange and share with the Vietnamese brides to help them have more knowledge about the legal system and social customs of Malaysia, thereby better integrating into social life there. A plan on free Vietnamese teaching for the Vietnamese community in Malaysia was also announced.
At the ceremony, many people actively performed art items, praising the role and good traditional ethics of Vietnamese women./.
