Vietnamese Bánh mì among world’s best street food

The website said bánh mì is a term for all types of bread in Vietnamese, but it’s become synonymous with a mouthwatering sandwich that might best be described as a Vietnamese hoagie. And the food seamlessly combines Western and Eastern ingredients.

There are many fillings for the food, but a standard bánh mì consists of a baguette stuffed with meat (perhaps grilled pork, meatballs, or cold cuts), cucumber slices, sprigs of cilantro, pickled carrots and daikon, liver pâté, and a swipe of mayonnaise, Fodor Travel noted.

The streets in Ho Chi Minh city are the best place to enjoy the food.

Other popular foods named in the 20 iconic street-food dishes list include Durum (Istanbul), suppli (Rome), chicken Roujiamo (Xian-China), pork Satay (Bangkok), Tacos al pastor (Mexico), Tagine (Marrakesh-Morocco), Choripan (Buenos Aires), Bhel Puri (Mumbai), snack arepas (Bogota-Colombia), Crepe (Paris), egg waffle (Hong Kong-China), espetinho-little skewer (Rio de Janeiro), Currywurst (Berlin), falafel (Tel Aviv-Israel), Hokkien mee (Singapore), Jerk chicken (Jamaica), hot dogs (Reykjavik-Iceland), ceviche (Lima-Peru), and halo-halo (the Philippines)./.
