The "Vietnamese days in the UK in 2022" organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK has just ended successfully in London, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of British, international friends, and the Vietnamese community in the UK.

From March 28, the program includes a series of cultural, artistic, and sports events; trade, investment, and tourism; cooperation in education, green transformation, and renewable energy.

The event is a meaningful activity on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the throne. It also marks the return of people-to-people exchange activities between the two countries after more than two years of hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the program, there are some outstanding events such as the "Investing in Vietnam” Forum (March 30); an Exhibition of artist Xeo Chu's paintings (March 29 - April 10); a Vietnamese painting exhibition entitled "Homeland" in London (March 30-April 1 ).

Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long said that now the country, the economy, and international tourism have reopened, the program has attracted tens of thousands of British and Vietnamese visitors to the UK.

It offers a great opportunity to introduce the image, country, and people of Vietnam, as well as the attractiveness of Vietnam's economy and tourism.

According to Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long, the events that took place successfully were appreciated by British and international friends. Vietnam is one of the first countries to organize cultural and commercial exchanges in the UK after 2 years of the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the Vietnam Investment Forum, British investors Vietnam's investment environment with its open and consistent investment policy, transparent business environment, and high political stability.

Investors also said that the potentials and advantages of developing renewable energy, digital transformation, financial technology, and green and sustainable development make Vietnam an attractive investment destination. These advantages are becoming more important and have a strategic influence on the development of countries around the world.

At the start-up cooperation seminar, Vietnam was assessed as a potential country to develop start-ups in technology. Vietnam is an open market and has a young, dynamic population with a desire to start businesses.

Vietnam also has advantages to developing the digital technology market thanks to its abundant human resources in information and communication technology, with more than 1 million people, and this number is increasing every year.

Vietnam also ranks second in the world in mobile phone exports and sixth in software services, with an annual growth rate of 25% even during the pandemic.

At the education cooperation seminar, Vietnam - a country with a young, studious population and parents willing to invest in education - was considered a potential partner with great demand for higher education.

This strength is reflected in the increasing trend of cooperation programs between British schools, universities, and Vietnamese partners.

The UK currently owns the largest number of universities in partnership with universities in Vietnam. Vietnamese students in the UK are also one of the largest communities.

The arts and culture events in the program also attract great attention from the British public. Two exhibitions of paintings by artist Xeo Chu and four contemporary artists Dinh Quan, Do Minh Tam, Pham Binh Chuong, and Doan Van Toi have attracted great attention.

The quality of exhibitions is particularly appreciated and of Vietnamese painting is by British art experts. Two exhibitions were also featured by the local press, including The Guardian and the BBC.

Two nights of Vietnamese music also impressed Vietnamese audiences in the UK, British and international friends.

The "Vietnamese days in the UK in 2022" have ended. However, it opens up opportunities to develop the Vietnam-UK comprehensive strategic relationship to new heights.

Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long said that the Vietnamese Embassy will continue to organize activities to strengthen the image of the country and Vietnamese people in the UK, and strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
