The ambassador of Vietnam also thanked the Overseas Vietnamese Community, the Vietnamese Student Association in Mongolia, the Mongolian Student Association in Vietnam for their supports, and promised to transfer the collected money to the victims as soon as possible. She hoped that, with the help of the people in and outside the country, the people in flooded areas will soon overcome adversity to stabilize their lives.

(VNF) - The Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia recently collected nearly VND50 million to support flood victims in homeland.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Doan Thi Huong briefed the participants on how natural disasters have affected the lives of people in Vietnam, as well as the efforts of the Party, army and people in tackling these challenges.

In particular, Huong stressed the extremely severe damages caused by natural calamities, which have claimed lives, submerged and devastated houses; isolated villages; and caused the shortage of food, clean water, learning facilities, among others.

The ambassador afterwards urged each official and staff member of the embassy to donate a minimum amount of two-day salary to the victims of the floods.

Furthermore, she took the occasion to call upon businesses, inpiduals and the Vietnamese community in Mongolia to jointly contribute to post-disaster relief in homeland.

Nguyen Huy Tuan, Head of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Mongolia, for his part, extended his deepest condolences to the people whose relatives were killed in the recent floods.

He affirmed that the Overseas Vietnamese community in Mongolia always looks toward the homeland. The Executive Board of the association will broadly disseminate information regarding the losses caused by natural calamities in the country in order to mobilize more practical supports.

Dr. G. Davkharbayar, on behalf of the Mongolian Student Association in Vietnam, shared that Mongolian students are deeply touched by the love and care of their host country and its people, they therefore wish to contribute back to Vietnam.

"We want to play a part in helping Vietnamese people to overcome the losses. This is not only the affection, but also the responsibility of Mongolian students in Vietnam. The Vietnamese people are very resilient and united, I believe that they will soon overcome these difficulties," Davkharbayar noted./.
